Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Terrain website (“Site”) or iOS application (“App”), collectively referred to as the “Service,” you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Terrain is a wellness platform that provides educational content inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine and related daily practices. The Service includes:

  • A terrain assessment quiz
  • Personalized routines, ingredients, movement, and acupressure suggestions
  • Educational content about TCM concepts and seasonal wellness
  • Progress tracking, optional account sync, and optional AI-assisted tongue readings
  • Optional premium subscription features

Important Medical Disclaimer

The Service is for informational and educational wellness purposes only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified healthcare professional before making medical decisions, changing how you manage a health condition, or starting any new wellness routine.

Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read, viewed, or tracked through the Service.

User Accounts

The App offers optional account creation via email or Sign in with Apple. You may also use the App without an account, in which case data remains on your device and will not sync across devices.

Subscriptions

Terrain may offer auto-renewable subscriptions for premium features.

  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings after purchase
  • If a free trial is offered, any unused portion may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where permitted by law

Pricing, plan length, and included features are shown in the app at the time of purchase.

User Data

The Service may store account information, terrain profile data, daily check-ins, progress history, ingredient cabinet data, and optional tongue-reading data. Please see our Privacy Policy for details.

Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with:

  • Supabase for optional cloud sync and backend infrastructure
  • OpenAI for optional AI-powered tongue analysis, only after your permission
  • Apple services such as StoreKit, HealthKit, WeatherKit, notifications, and Sign in with Apple
  • Superwall for subscription and paywall management

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App except where prohibited by law
  • Use the Service to provide medical advice to others
  • Submit false or misleading information

Intellectual Property

All content in the Service, including text, graphics, logos, routines, educational content, and software, is the property of Terrain Health or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms of Use or engage in conduct we determine to be harmful.

Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Terrain Health shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages related to health outcomes, subscription access, or loss of data.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the date above.

Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
